Staff was great, the room could not have been better and the view was absolutely the best. We were able to enjoy weather that went from full sunshine to a little bit of snow before we left. We were there during Halloween week, the weather was bad Halloween night so we had a fire and enjoyed listening to the wind blow. It was a fun stay.

We decided to host a small thanksgiving away from home this year and picked Highlands at Sugar as our location and couldn’t be happier with the result. The unit we were in had plenty of space and was very cozy.

My wife and I like to explore new areas during off seasons. This is a great area and the resort suited us perfectly. The view from the balcony was excellent. We would certainly recommend this resort to anyone.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Highlands! Staff were very nice. The apartment I stayed in was exactly like the pictures on the internet site, full kitchen, separate bedroom great king-sized bed and nicely appointed bathroom.

My husband and I came up for the weekend to enjoy the festivals and the Ghost train at Tweetsie Railroad. We thought the price for the weekend was great for a one-bedroom apartment and a pullout couch. We didn’t bring any kitchen supplies with us but were very pleased with the fully stocked kitchen and supplies to clean dishes in the dishwasher and make coffee. We were able to cook our own breakfast in the morning before heading out for the day. We bought firewood on the way in but realized that there was baseboard heat in the rooms and used that instead, it made the apartment nice and warm very quickly. The rooms were very nice and clean and the bathroom was very large and clean as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back to stay at The Highlands at Sugar. We also loved how close it was to everything. The views were breathtaking from the room. The only suggestion I would make is to place lights on the stairs that lead to the rooms so that it will be easier to see at night.

As our first vacation in this area, we feel fortunate to have chosen The Highlands at Sugar. The mountain views are breathtaking, loved the wildlife, and our unit made us feel right at home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is open 24 hrs for swimming, hot tub, sauna, billiards, games, and more. Restaurants and shopping are nearby.
